This Is More Than Photography for MeI’m Liz, a South Milwaukee portrait photographer specializing in senior portraits, family photography, headshots, and branding photography throughout Milwaukee and Southeast Wisconsin. Senior portraits are the heart of my work, but honestly, the thread through everything I photograph is pretty simple.
I want people to feel comfortable, seen, and like themselves in front of the camera. Not the overly polished, awkward, “what do I do with my hands” version of themselves. The real version. The slightly nervous at first, then suddenly feeling themselves version. The “wait, that actually looks like me” version.
The way I see it, portraits matter most during identity milestones. Senior year. A growing family. A business owner finally becoming the face of their brand. A teen realizing they’re allowed to take up space. A professional stepping into a new season of work. Those moments matter because something is shifting. How you see yourself. How other people see you. How you want to show up in the world.
That’s what I photograph.
And no, I do not expect you to know how to pose, what to wear, where to shoot, how to smile naturally, or what to do with your hands.
That is very much my job. Your job is just to show up as yourself. I’ll help with the rest.
My background in fashion and cosplay photography shapes a lot of the way I photograph people now.
I spent time living, creating, and shooting in New Zealand and Australia, then later worked with nationally recognized and local designers here in the States. That experience taught me how to blend creativity with storytelling, style with personality, and direction with something that still feels real.
Translation: I know how to make things look cool without making them feel fake.
When I’m not behind the camera, I’m usually playing video games, planning my next travel adventure, reading, or hanging out with my two cats, Lucio and Loki, who are fully convinced they run the house. Honestly, they might be right.
I love what I do because it blends art, storytelling, and connection, and I feel incredibly lucky to be trusted with such important seasons in people’s lives.
At the end of the day, I care a lot, I laugh a lot, and I’m here to create images you actually love. No stiff poses, no fake vibes, no awkward “what do I do with my hands” energy. Just you, totally yourself.
And I can’t wait to see what we create together.
For the Parents reading this;
I know this season is just as emotional for you as it is exciting for them. My role is to guide the entire process so you don’t have to stress about outfits, locations, or what to do with the images afterward. You’ll feel supported, informed, and confident every step of the way — and you’ll walk away with artwork that preserves this chapter of your family’s story in a meaningful, lasting way.
A few more things about me outside of just the camera;
- I will absolutely hype your teen up during their session
- Remember, it's MY job to get the images - not yours - take the pressure off of yourself, k? K.
- Video games are my off-duty creative outlet and stress reliever (...and occasionally stress inducer)
- I've travelled to New Zealand, Australia, Italy, and Spain - I'm excited for the next one!
- My cats, Lucio and Loki, run the house - and yes, I will show you photos of them if you ask
- I believe photos belong on walls, in albums, not just in camera rolls - but don't worry, they can hangout there too. (Psst... the two aren't mutually exclusive.)
